U13's SECURE ANOTHER WIN TO WRAP UP THE COMPETITION TABLE

28 AUGUST JIMBOOMBA 7 VS MOOROONDU 1
For the last game of the competition, this week the Jimboomba U13’s travelled to Mooroondu. In a comprehensive performance the team took the game to Mooroondu right from the opening whistle.
It didn’t take long for the first goal to be scored by Joel Weink as he slotted the first of three passed the keeper after some good build up work in the midfield. The team seemed to lose some intensity then for an extended period of the first half when Mooroondu fought back making a break down the Jimboomba left and hammering a shot passed the Jimboomba goalkeeper to level the score against the main run of play. When Mathew Wellings had to make a good save minutes later it appeared to snap everyone back to life and from then on it was all Jimboomba.
The second goal came about five minutes before the break when Joel scored his second in a sweeping move that started back in the Jimboomba penalty area when JJ Taylor won the ball and found Corey Schofield down the right hand side. A deft one touch flick to Daniel Leck and back to complete a one two move, then a first time through ball for Joel to finish the movement with a first time shot.
After the half time break the game was all Jimboomba with Mat in goals being used as an extra sweeper only, the rest of the defence taking care of anything coming their way. JJ Taylor in particular shone on the right with some great passing, and in particular very penetrating free kicks. James Burgess, Jarrod McAnulty and Seth Pipers had their usual solid games.
Corey and Daniel Leck both chipped in with two goals each taking advantage of the good build up work by the midfield plays and great running by the forwards and excellent crossing by Scott Littlejohn. Joel also bagged his hat trick as the Mooroondu defence capitulated to the Jimboomba onslaught. If not for the Mooroondu goalkeeper, who made numerous saves, the score line would have been greater in Jimboomba’s favour.
A great season for the team finishing at the top of the table five points clear. Now we look forward to the semi final next week to try and put the icing on the cake. Well done and good luck lads and girl.
U12 Div7 Girls Win Again

This was our last fixture for the year and what a great way to finish with the girls showing fine form, they played with great enthusiasm and control and put all they have learned this year into practice and got the results defeating Greenbank 5 – 0
Two minutes from kickoff the girls stamped their authority on the game as Dakota Creamer scored from a corner as she picked up a loose ball that drifted across the opposition’s goal; it was only minutes later that Chloe Mathers scored her first goal for the season proving that support and perseverance will eventually pay rewards. With the girls winning possession from all over the park and building the attack from teamwork and passing it was not long before Courtney Black was able to finish off putting them 3 – 0 up at half time.
With the girls having the majority of possession we decided to give the keeper Jacinta Roberts a run in the second half and as always she did not fail to disappoint scoring minutes later. After making many breaks down each side of the field another great goal was to follow which can be shared by 2 players as they proved that following the ball to the end can come with benefits as Sarah Bakker and Meaghan Clarke put the oppositions keeper under pressure forcing the error and coming up with our final goal leaving us 5 – 0 at full time
All the girls showed today that they are a force to be reckoned with and that should be taken seriously as we go into the semi finals next week
A special thanks to Simone Rohl who came down to support her team mates even though she was to unwell to play
Congratulations girls and best of luck next week

Tritons Stand Firm in Final Fixture!

What a way to finish the season, the same way it started, with an emphatic win over a beefed up Slacks Creek team.
With the field a lot wider than usual, the coach’s instructions were to move the ball wide quickly.
Within the first 10 minutes the Tritons were 2 goals up, but the real battle was won from the back line with Kassidy Barlow awesome in goals and Josh Nicholson putting his body on the line to continually push the ball forward.
The second half started with Slacks Creek determined to put a score on the board, but Griffin Palin took it upon himself to ensure they stayed scoreless with impressive defending deep in the tritons back half, including a great length of the field run, resulting in Jimboomba’s third goal.
James Birch, Declan Drake and Hayden Irvin worked together well to give Brandon Duckworth 2 great scoring opportunities that he took full advantage of.
The undefeated Tritons finished the season with a gutsy 5-nill win over a filthy Slacks Creek outfit,2 goals to Brandon Duckworth and 3 cracking goals to Noah Percy.
Let’s not forget the awesome job the coach played, thank you to Ron Birch for a great year. GO THE MIGHTY TRITONS WOO HOO.
